Los Angeles-based, Tim Sexton founded The Sexton Company in 2003. He has benefited from close working relationships with leading figures in business, finance, entertainment, government, and non-profits. Tim has served as an executive and/or producer to film studios, television networks, recorded music companies, and large-scale live events. He has also acted as an advisor and/or consultant to technology concerns, Nobel Laureates, government officials, investor groups, pro sports franchises, Fortune 500 corporations, and non-profits.

Tim Sexton is an Emmy Award winner with groundbreaking achievements across multiple content creation and distribution platforms. He was Executive Producer of Live 8, which set new benchmarks for how to harness global media and entertainment to change public policy by bringing together 1000 music artists in 9 concerts on 4 continents in a single day! It is the largest music event in history aggregating a global broadcast audience of 3 billion people and 2 million in attendance, as well as being the biggest Internet event ever garnering the Webby Award as “one the 10 events that shaped the Internet” plus, the largest mobile event in history generating 26 million text messages around the world.

Most importantly, Live 8 resulted in the G8 nations changing their policies on debt relief and HIV/AIDS treatment for all affected children in the world’s poorest countries. Following that success, Sexton collaborated with Richard Curtis, Simon Fuller and the producers of American Idol in producing television’s defining charity event - American Idol Gives Back – which raised $80Mn in a single night and received a special Emmy Governor’s Award.

Mr. Sexton also worked as a senior executive for several technology companies. He was President of Digital On-Demand - a leading edge technology firm that provided a proprietary digital network, databases, content, and merchandising systems to retailers. When Digital On-Demand merged with Alliance Entertainment Corp - now Source Interlink and one of America’s largest home entertainment supply-chain management and distribution companies – Tim worked as Alliance’s Executive Vice President serving as Chief Operating Officer of the company’s Digital Technology unit.

Prior to working in technology, Tim was a senior creative executive at Columbia/Tri-Star Pictures and at Fox. Over the years, he has also been a creative consultant to Warner Brothers, Universal, MGM, Disney and Intermedia. Tim was President of the Track Factory, a boutique recorded music company formed with Universal Music. He also partnered with Irving Azoff’s Giant Entertainment to create Big Screen Records in an arrangement with Warner Brothers Records. From the mid-1980’s until 1999, Magstripe Entertainment, a company co-founded with a partner, was Hollywood’s leading provider of music for film and television collaborating in Grammy winners, groundbreaking TV, box-office blockbusters, and #1 records. During the same period, he also co-founded d.a.w.g., a leading digital media production and marketing firm which developed websites and online advertising efforts for Levi Strauss, Amnesty International, MCA Records, and Coca-Cola.

Early in his career, Tim’s live event production credits include the seminal M.U.S.E (No Nukes) Concerts in New York at Madison Square Garden, Peace Sunday at Pasadena’s famed Rose Bowl, the annual Hollywood Bowl Survival Sunday concert series plus, countless other stadium and arena events. Many of the most successful, influential, and legendary artists in the history of music performed at these Sexton led events.

Mr. Sexton is the Co-Founder of E2 (Southern California) - the business voice of the Natural Resources Defense Council.
